The IsoBind Gel Extraction Kit provides molecular biology laboratories with a rapid manual silica spin-column method for recovering DNA from excised agarose gel bands.

Gel slices are dissolved in Gel Melt Buffer before isopropanol-assisted binding to the silica membrane. A wash step removes agarose, intercalating dyes and salts, followed by a 50 µL elution. Colour-coded columns help distinguish the workflow at the bench.

The kit is suitable for DNA recovered from 0.5-2% agarose gels and standard stained gel systems. The dissolve, bind, wash and elute workflow takes approximately 20 minutes on a standard laboratory centrifuge.

Purified DNA is suitable for cloning, sequencing, downstream PCR and library preparation.
