The IsoBind Soil Microbial DNA Kit is designed for microbiome, environmental and agricultural laboratories that need microbial DNA from complex samples with high organic inhibitor loads. It combines bead-beating lysis with manual silica spin-column purification.
Mechanical disruption releases DNA from bacteria, including robust gram-positive cells, and fungal spores. Bind C and isopropanol treatment reduce humic acids, fulvic acids and other soil-derived inhibitors before silica binding, washing and a 30 µL elution.
The kit processes soil, faecal material, wastewater, sludge and biofilms, including agricultural soils and compost. The workflow takes approximately 45 minutes for 1-12 samples and requires a bead beater plus a standard laboratory centrifuge.
Purified DNA is suitable for 16S rRNA gene sequencing, shotgun metagenomics, microbial diversity studies and environmental pathogen detection. Local technical support is available for difficult matrices.
