The IsoBind Plasmid Isolation Kit provides molecular biology laboratories with a compact manual silica spin-column workflow for plasmid DNA preparation from overnight bacterial cultures.
Cells are resuspended, lysed under alkaline conditions and neutralised to separate plasmid DNA from genomic DNA and protein. The clarified lysate is applied to the silica membrane, washed and eluted in 50 µL. Controlled cooling steps support separation during the lysis sequence.
The kit processes 1.5 mL overnight cultures and is intended primarily for routine high-copy plasmid preparations. The workflow takes approximately 30 minutes for 1-24 samples using a standard laboratory centrifuge.
Purified plasmid DNA is suitable for restriction digestion, ligation, transformation, Sanger sequencing and cloning verification.
