The IsoBind DNA Trace Kit is developed for forensic and relationship-testing laboratories that need concentrated genomic DNA from limited or challenging evidence. It uses a manual silica spin-column format compatible with a standard centrifuge.
Samples undergo Proteinase K lysis before silica binding. Three wash stages reduce environmental contaminants, fabric dyes and soil-derived inhibitors, while the 40 µL elution helps preserve useful DNA concentration when starting material is limited.
The kit accepts buccal swabs, blood, saliva, semen and nails, with hair roots, substrate samples and sexual assault evidence as secondary inputs. The workflow takes approximately 45 minutes for 1-24 samples and is supplied for in vitro diagnostic use.
